Muslim cleric harshly criticises fans who jump on Kizz Daniel’s Marhaba Challenge

Muslim cleric Alfa Muhmeen recently expressed strong disapproval of women, particularly Muslim women, participating in Kizz Daniel’s *Marhaba* challenge. In a video shared online, Muhmeen criticized the women for their outfits and behavior while dancing to the song, using harsh terms like “werey” (a derogatory Yoruba word meaning “mad person”) and “unfortunate” to describe them.

He specifically highlighted the immodesty in their clothing choices, pointing out that some women were dancing in revealing outfits, with some even wearing just underwear for the challenge. Muhmeen compared their attire to the more modest way Kizz Daniel’s wife dresses in his online videos, suggesting they should follow her example.

The cleric further condemned the women who participate in the challenge without covering their chests, despite being aware of the values expected in their religious and cultural backgrounds. He also made a passing remark about Kizz Daniel removing his wife’s photos from Instagram, possibly as a point of reflection for the participants to reconsider their actions.
