Basketmouth reveals how he raised N300 million in 24 hours as a filmmaker.

Renowned comedian, actor, and filmmaker Basketmouth recently shared his insights on the film industry in a candid interview, emphasizing the critical role of effective budgeting in filmmaking. He pointed out that while some filmmakers manage to secure funding for their projects, they often misallocate these funds for personal expenses. This mismanagement not only diminishes the budget but also adversely affects the overall quality of their films.

Basketmouth recounted an impressive achievement where he successfully raised 300 million Naira for a movie project in just twenty-four hours, highlighting the potential for significant financial backing when managed correctly. He also stressed the importance of collaboration between seasoned filmmakers and younger talent, noting that the older generation can learn valuable lessons from their younger counterparts. He warned against viewing such collaborations as a favor, advocating instead for mutual respect and learning.

In addition, Basketmouth expressed his disapproval of fellow comedians who solicit financial support from audiences during their performances. He criticized this practice as dishonorable and encouraged his peers to focus on delivering outstanding performances that engage and entertain their audiences without resorting to financial pleas. His comments reflect a commitment to maintaining high standards in the entertainment industry and fostering a culture of professionalism and integrity among filmmakers and comedians alike.
