In the midst of a brewing feud between Fuji musicians Taye Currency and Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal 1, popularly known as Kwam 1 or K1 De Ultimate, has stepped in to mediate. The conflict began when Taye Currency, during a performance, asserted that while Pasuma was his older brother, he did not see him as a “father” figure in the Fuji music hierarchy. This remark was interpreted as a significant slight, especially given the deep respect Pasuma commands in the industry.
Pasuma, known for his humility, quickly responded, expressing his displeasure with Taye’s comments. The tension between the two artists drew widespread attention within the Fuji community.
Recognizing the escalating situation, Kwam 1, a revered veteran of the genre, chose to intervene. During a live performance, Kwam 1 delivered a heartfelt message to Taye Currency, urging him to set aside pride and show respect to those who have come before him, including Pasuma. Kwam 1 emphasized the importance of honoring elders in the industry, noting that Pasuma had played a significant role in Taye’s career.
In a moment of reconciliation, Kwam 1 also addressed Pasuma, advising him not to take the younger artist’s remarks too personally. He reminded Pasuma that, as a respected elder and veteran, he should be able to rise above such criticisms.
