“Why is the crowd so dead”: Reactions to Psquare’s Ex-Signee May D’s Performance in Osun State.

Nigerian singer Mr. May D, whose real name is Akinmayokun Awodumil, recently made waves online after a video of his performance in Ile Ife, Osun State, surfaced. The event was graced by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan, and one of his queens, where May D entertained the crowd with various songs.

One particular clip captured him dancing energetically to his hit song “Ile Ijo.” Unfortunately, the audience’s reaction was disappointing, as many attendees remained motionless and showed little excitement throughout the performance.

May D was officially signed to the now-defunct R&B duo P-Square’s label, Square Records.

On July 18, 2020, he revealed that he had joined Davido Music Worldwide. At the height of his career, May D appeared on P-Square’s song “Chop My Money” with US artist Akon, which was a notable international collaboration in the music scene.
